The sharp increase in global temperatures and the heat waves that have been generated due to raised global warming has been one of the prime reasons of concern for India.

“Climate justice demands that the little carbon space we still have, developing countries should have enough room to grow,” said INDIAN PRIME MINISTER NARENDRA MODI, a key player because of his country’s size and its heavy dependence on coal.

 

This is mainly because estimated, the temperatures of the land have been suspected to be raised by 25 times than its usual temperature by the span of 2036-2065. India has eventually booked its spot in the list of the G20s as a result of being victimized by Global Warming (The Telegraph, 2021). The new waves of heat that have posed challenges for the country are five times stronger than ever which lead to an alarming rise in the temperatures of the country. The country’s threat from global warming is so serious that climate scientist Anjali Prakash has estimated that approximately about 54% of the land is bound to be adversely affected by the extreme effects of global warming.

The scientist has also added that the country is right on top of a time bomb that is about to explode, giving the country the worst possible nightmares (The Telegraph, 2021). These analyses and the predictions of science reflect on the need for immediate action from the governing bodies of the country. A report from the G20 also reveals that there would be an upcoming increase in the demands for water supply and water for irrigation within the country owing to the vulnerability of the country to global warming.

As a result of this, the growth and economy of the country, which is majorly dependent on industries and agriculture, will suffer till a major economic setback, occurs. Estimated, about 10% of the country’s GDP will experience a fall as a result of climate changes and their effect on the country’s demand and supply patterns (The Telegraph, 2021). Moreover, the food supplies of the country and the tourism sector of the country also have high possibilities of getting dwindled as a result of the increased threat from global warming and climatic changes.
