“The success of Yoga does not lie in the ability to perform postures but in how it positively changes the way we live our life and our relationships.” ― T.K.V. Desikachar

The name derives from the Sanskrit word ‘Trikona’, which means triangle, and ‘asana’, which means yogic posture. Yoga is named such, for the triangle shape of the body of the practitioners while performing this yoga (Mehra & Raole, 2021). This yoga posture involves the bringing of the bottom hands of the practitioners to the floor while keeping both the legs on the floor.

Things you should know before performing this yoga!!

Before starting the yoga, the practitioners are instructed to perform a warm-up session to make all the body parts active and to make all the joints smooth. While reaching towards the front foot, the practitioners are instructed to avoid the bending of the knees, it can make the yoga less effective (India-a2z, 2020). If the practitioner is unable to reach the desired position, without bending the knees, they are instructed to keep a yoga block beside the legs for support. This asana involves the sideways movement of the body. Hence, the practitioners are instructed not to bend backward and round the spine while doing yoga. This yogic posture involves the core, thighs, and upper body parts of the practitioners (Mehra & Raole, 2021). While doing the yoga, they should make all the muscles in these regions tightened, to make the yoga more effective. They should do it very slowly and steadily while bending forward to maintain proper balance.
